ABOUT
NBD Math
NBD Math is a hybrid program, combining our online math classes designed for neurodivergent students with your in-person teachers.
Lev Vygotsky was right: the More Knowledgeable Other (MKO) is key to student success. We are the MKO for neurodivergent students-- we eat, breathe, and sleep dyscalculia! You are the MKO in the classroom, and research shows that teacher involvement, attitude, and mindset are crucial factors in student success.
NBD Math brings these two MKO's together for unmatched student growth in mathematics performance, conceptual understanding, self-confidence, and self-efficacy.
How Does It Work?
-
Your school purchases student licenses for remedial math students, and our team helps them place students in their appropriate grade level (4th grade through Algebra 2);
-
Students spend the first half of class time online, following our lessons and taking our assessments;
-
The second half of class is spent with the teacher, doing extra practice, asking questions, doing activities, or tying our lessons to the regular math curriculum or state tests;
-
The teacher/interventionist attends our monthly virtual coaching sessions to network with other teachers using the program, troubleshoot any issues, and learn tips, strategies, and activities from Dr. Wall.
Our Courses
-
Designed using research on dyscalculia, neurodivergence, learning disabilities, low numeracy, trauma-responsive teaching, and multi-language learners.
-
The delivery, instruction, and assessments are perfectly aligned and use scaffolding to increase workload over time and build comprehension.
-
Incorporate teachers and interventionists, creating a unified delivery of math content to students while increasing teacher efficacy and engagement.
-
Meet all state standards and follow NCTM's guidelines for high-quality math instruction.
